Looking to the Future

Things are going well with Venus. I'm onto Chapter 14... although of course some scenes are getting extended beyond what I originally planned. Mostly horny characters jumping each other. Which is fine, I'm certainly not going to stop them =) Things are getting very close to being wrapped up which is super exciting, although I'm realizing that things are not going to be completely wrapped into a neat little bow for everyone. Mostly because I can't stand the books that have characters meeting and getting married within a couple of months (or less!)... BUT that doesn't mean that it won't happen eventually since we'll be seeing everyone in the rest of the Stronghold series as that goes along. To me the important thing is that everyone knows where their future is headed, and we'll get to see some of it from the other Stronghold books. =)

In other news... AquaPrincessIsNowQueen has convinced me that Olivia should have her own book.  So I'll be adding that to the Stronghold series once I figure out where it fits in and she's been helping me create a storyline... this is going to be a major challenge for me when it comes along since I've never written a story, much less a book, with a Domme.  At least, not one where there wasn't also a Dom involved. But I'm looking forward to it too... so major thanks to AquaPrincess for talking me into it and helping me develop the storyline.  At the moment I'm thinking that hers will be the last book in the series... although if other side characters become beloved then perhaps I'll end up with more books. But each book is going to be a standalone, focused on one couple at a time. I'm toying with the idea of doing another trio book, but haven't really gotten far with the idea... it's just a kernal.

Anyway, now that we're getting close to the end of Venus, just wanted to go over the line-up for the Stronghold series which will be following it... and I'll be working on it at the same time as the Domestic Discipline Quartet.

1. Stronghold - Adam
2. Taming the Tease - Rick Winter (Wooo Mr. Winter!!!)
3. Protector - Patrick & Lexie
4. Bound to the Past - Andrew
5. Breaking the Chain - Jared
6. (Currently Unnamed) - Michael (you'll meet him in Stronghold)
7. (Currently Unnamed) - Olivia

As well as a book of novellas which will have Charity & Nick's story, Paul and Fiona's (<--- Venus School characters) and Jake's (Lexie's brother).  May also include a couple bonus novellas with more of Jessica, Justin and Chris, and Hilary and Liam peeking into their lives post-Quartet.

Venus Transcendent will have a teaser for Stronghold at the end of it and later in May I'll be posting another teaser for it on the blog, although my focus is going to very quickly go to getting out Dealing with Discipline sometime in June. Don't want to make people wait too long for that one since Birching His Bride has ended up being my most popular book in its first month to date! I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that there really aren't too many Victorian era books quite like it. I found a niche =) It makes me happy! Although obviously I'm not planning on stopping writing my contemporary stuff anytime soon LOL.

Thank You Contest Suggestions!

Thank you everyone that's been sending me contest suggestions =)  My creative juices are flowing in ENTIRELY new ways and even if I don't use the idea you sent me for a contest story I'm writing them all down and may use them in later stories for Lit just for fun!  Some seriously good ideas have been sent to me, things I would have never come up with on my own and I'm really looking forward to bringing them to life!  I have a feeling that what I write will be a combination of a couple different ideas sent by different people that just happen to go well together =)

I really appreciate the help/support as both of these categories were making me feel boring since I couldn't come up with anything new for myself and it's made a maaaaaajor difference to get feedback from all of you =) I've noticed that more people feel comfortable emailing me with their suggestions that commenting on the blog which I totally understand, but just want to say that I haven't seen a bad idea yet!

Anyway, working my ass off on Venus... I have no idea whether or not I'm going to have it done by this upcoming weekend but I'm going to try really hard. Was out of town the past weekend... may blog a funny story about that when I get a chance... and I didn't get as much done writing-wise as I would have liked but I did end the weekend feeling super refreshed and ready to get my butt moving on life in general so here's hoping I can have the magic fingers and pump out words at a record rate!!!!  I'm feeling SUPER motivated, as I often due when I'm getting close to a "due" date so I'm having trouble focusing on anything but Venus. I wish that I could have this super focus in general, but it only seems to happen when I'm coming up on a deadline. Ah well. It means that I get to write a bunch of different stuff the majority of the time and that's fun too.

Hope everyone had a good weekend! And please, don't hesitate to send me a contest suggestion if you think of something, I haven't finalized any ideas yet and I'm still muling over details, characters and plots, although I have a pretty good idea of what I'd like to do =) Woo!

Help! Need Suggestions for Contest

Ok... so after winning one of the special Literotica contests (mine was for Halloween yay!) I had to wait 6 months before I could enter another one.  So the ones that are coming up are for National Nude Day or Summer Loving a few weeks after that.  Unfortunately the only idea that I've come up with for a good contest story has to do with the winter holidays...

I would love to try to submit something to the National Nude Day Contest (which has to do with public nudity, exhibitionism, etc.) or Summer Loving (warm weather, summer activities, etc.) but for some reason I'm drawing a blank on a good story line.  I think the categories are just a little too broad for me and I'm having trouble narrowing things down.

Looking through the list of suggestions/requests I've gotten from readers I can't find any that really have to do with either nudity or the summer... I suppose I could twist something around to fit those categories but I'd really love to have a more focused approach.

So... anyone have any suggestions for me? Ideas? Even just themes would be good... best thing I've come up with so far is maybe doing something at a summer camp.  Before I started trying to force anything I figured I'd ask you guys...

You can leave a comment or email me at goldeniangel@gmail.com or send me a Tweet if you follow me on there =)

Thanks!!!

Venus Transcendent Teaser

I'm really trucking it through Venus... at the moment all of my attention is focused on it. I normally find it hard to focus all my attention on one project, but for some reason it becomes easier when I start getting close to the deadline. Even if it is self-imposed.  Really hoping to get a lot of work done on it today...

In the meantime, here's another teaser. This time I went for plot teaser, especially since a lot of people expressed interest in my tweet about Jessica's brother Jay ;)

(Also, on a side note, although I appreciate the support, enough with the back and forth with the idiot who accused me of plagiarism... there's no point in arguing with someone like that because they're obviously too caught up in their own little world to be able to admit when they're wrong and it's just a waste of anyone's time. But I really do appreciate all the support that people have given me about that issue. =)

Jessica drummed her fingers against the steering wheel as she pulled into the apartment complex.  She was a little nervous but nothing compared to what she’d felt like when she’d confronted her parents.  The dynamic here was completely different.  Taking a deep breath, more to control her anger than to give her confidence, she glanced over at the junker of a car to her right.  Amazing that it was still working, but at least he hadn’t gotten rid of it yet. After all, that was how she knew he was home.

She took the steps two at a time; the buildings in the complex were only three stories high and had open air stairways.  It was a nice set-up all in all, although she bet that during the winter it was a little bit less fun. A conventional apartment building, like hers and Hilary's meant staying in the warmth that little bit longer.  Although soon she'd be living in a house again, something she hadn't done since she'd moved out of her parents.

Weird.

The doorbell was still broken so she pounded on the door.  The rumble of male voices was just barely audible through the thick wood, and the door opened to present a sleepy looking blonde with tousled hair and no shirt.  She raised her eyebrow at him.

"Jess... hey what's up...?" He leaned against the door frame.  Granted, he had a pretty nice build but Justin and Chris' were better.  Besides she liked em tall dark and handsome now.  Blue eyes swept over her, taking in her new clothes.  "Looking good..."

"Bryan!"  An exasperated voice behind the blonde exclaimed.  "Stop hitting on my sister!"

"What, she looks good."

Bryan gave her another grin and ambled off, Jessica followed him into the apartment slightly bemused.  Although Jay had been living with Bryan for a while now, he'd definitely never looked at her like that before.  Did he know about her relationship? If so he didn't seem judgmental.  Or maybe he was truly just reacting to her new look.  Why hadn't she worn more flattering clothes before?  Not that she'd ever wanted to attract Bryan's attention, he was a bit of a man-whore on top of the fact that she'd feel like she was robbing the cradle, but it was still nice to have him notice her as something other than his roommate's big sister.

Standing in the doorway, Jessica put her hands on her hips and glared at her brother who was standing in the kitchen.  The front door emptied out into the main room where the TV was - it looked like she had interrupted Call of Duty - and the kitchen was to the right with a buffet counter that allowed her to look right in at him. He was the male version of her, with short-cropped curly brown hair and hazel eyes, although he was also about half a foot taller than her.  Unlike Bryan he was fully dressed in jeans and a t-shirt.

Her friends, upon meeting her "little" brother invariably would say the same thing - "Jessica, that's not little."

But to her he would always be the pesky little runt that she'd dressed up in her ballerina costumes and forced him to let the Barbies into the G.I. Joe fort they'd made out of his bed.  Size didn't matter; Jay was still her kid brother.

And, as such, one of the few people she had absolutely no trouble being aggressively confrontational with.  Actually, perhaps the only person.

"Hey Jess," he muttered, not quite meeting her eyes as he chugged some orange juice straight from the container.  She made a face.  Definitely one reason she did not miss living with him.

"Let's go."

"What?" he looked at her like she was delusional.

"You're coming over for dinner. Let's go, now. Consider this a kidnapping."

A mulish expression slipped over his face but then he glanced over at Bryan and obviously decided to hold his tongue. "Fine.  I want to talk to you anyway."

Not as much as I want to talk to you, she thought but didn't say.  No need to start anything in front of Bryan who was obviously clueless and she was content to let him remain that way.

Shoving shoes onto his feet, he grabbed his jacket and swiped his keys and his wallet off of a table by the couch. "I'm out bro, I'll see you later."

"Bye Bryan."

"See ya. Take care Jess."

Brother and sister walked in silence to her car, Jay with his hands shoved in his pockets and looking rather uncomfortable.  After all, Jessica thought somewhat exasperated and amused at the same time, what do you say to your sister when you know she's sleeping with two men?

When they got in the car, Jessica tossed her phone into his lap before he could say anything.

"Read through the marked text messages," she said.  "I haven't deleted them in case I have to file harassment charges."

The look Jay gave her was one of alarm, but she kept her attention on her driving as she pulled out of the parking lot.  Out of the corner of her eye she could see him frowning as he began to look through the text messages; she'd locked the worst ones just in case things really did escalate to a point where she needed to notify law enforcement.  Since the weekend the majority of nasty text messages from unknown numbers had slowed down.  Maybe because people had gone back to their real lives yesterday, or maybe because she hadn't bothered to respond or even to contact Sean to tell him to call off his friends.  If all of them were even from his friends.

Her brother's face turned a bright pink and then darkened to red as he scowled.

"What the fuck?!" he finally exploded.

"As far as I can tell, most of those are from Sean's buddies," she said conversationally. "I don't know the numbers.  Some of them might be from some people I know, since he crashed the Halloween party I was at on Saturday and announced to everyone there that I'm fucking two guys."

It wasn't easy for a guy who was over six feet tall to shrink into himself, but Jay made a good effort.  The look on his face was stricken.

"He also told me that he'd be willing to take me back, since obviously our break-up had affected me so deeply."

"Well hadn't it?" Jay looked rather forlorn, a little desperate to absolve himself of the responsibility for the nasty text messages he'd just read through. The ones calling her a slut and a whore, from people that she might not have ever even met, judging and lashing out at her for no good reason.

"Yeah, it made me realize how much of a rut I was in and how much better I deserved than him."

"I'm sorry Jess... I didn't mean for... well I didn't mean for this to happen." He waved her phone in the air.  "But I mean... come on... two guys? Do you know what this has done to Dad?"

"How is it any of Dad's business who I date? Or yours for that matter?" she demanded fiercely, glaring at him before focusing her eyes back on the road as she got onto the highway.  "Did I say anything when you got back together with Tracy, after she cheated on you? Or when you got the clap from Patricia and then kept sleeping with her anyway?"

Jay bolted upright in his seat, glaring at her even though his face could have rivaled a tomato.  "How did you know about that?"

She rolled her eyes. "Like that matters.  My point is, I don't interfere in your dating life, what the hell makes you think you have the right to interfere in mine? Not only that, but without even talking to me.  Did you know that the first time Dad's talked to me in months was this Sunday? Any information you got from him was secondhand through Mom, plus it's not like he's behaving rationally about this."

"I'm not sure you're behaving rationally about this," Jay countered stubbornly, his arms crossed over his chest and his eyes firmly out the window.  "I mean come on Jess... two guys? At once?" He shuddered, although she wasn't sure if it was caused by the two guys at once thing or the fact that that he was talking to his older sister about her sex life period.

"I'm not sure you're behaving rationally either.  Would it have killed you to talk to me first instead of my ex?"

There was a long silence as she drove.

Finally Jay sighed.  "Look, I'm sorry, I should have talked to you first. But that doesn't mean that I can support this whole... whatever it is you're doing."

"Not asking you to," she retorted cheerfully, pulling into the neighborhood.

"Is this some kind of wild rebound thing? Like, going crazy before you settle down?"

"Nope. I am settling down."

"Jess, come on... wait..." He looked around as she slowed the car.  "Where the hell are we?"

Halfway Point for Venus

I didn't get quite as much writing done this weekend as I would have liked, mostly because I found myself struggling with a scene between Hilary and Liam.  I think I just put too much pressure on myself that the scene had to be fantastic... I do that sometimes. Made it hard for me to write it though.  Took  me all weekend to get through that one chapter... but once I did the creativity juices started flowing again and I got about halfway through Chapter 10 as well.  So according to my outline I'm past the halfway point and so far I've managed to do a pretty decent job of following the outline...

I would love to have Venus Transcendent finished by the beginning of May but I have no idea if that's actually going to be feasibly possible. Definitely not if I end up coming upon any more scenes that I struggle with... so we'll see. I definitely think that mid-May is a distinct possibility.

Managed to do a bit more with Dealing With Discipline as well... I'd really like to get that out asap after Venus is done because Birching His Bride is (so far) probably my most popular book on Amazon and I don't want to make people wait too long for the second one.  That and the writing just really seems to flow... I'm having a lot of fun with the Victorian period!

There's a standalone that I'm writing for Literotica too, whenever I need a break from the plot-heavy... this one's a First Time category about a girl who sells her virginity on a website and it turns out that her best friend's dad buys it.  Nice and easy storyline, although it's taking me a while to write just because I really have been on a roll with the other books and have only felt the urge to play with something different twice in the past week.

Anyway... that's my update. I'll probably be posting another teaser for Venus later this week so keep an eye out for that =) Woo!

Marriage Training Ch. 5 & A Thank You

First things first... Chapter 5 of Marriage Training is now available on Literotica. YAY! That one came up fairly quickly now that the Earth Day contest is over and (I'm guessing) the submissions rate has slowed somewhat. Makes me happy.

Something else that makes me happy and that I need to say a major thank you for... all the people who reached out to me through email, twitter, on Amazon or as a comment on this blog after I got majorly upset about being accused of plagiarism.  I can't even describe how insulted/angry/unmotivated that one person made me feel, but I've definitely felt the support of many more people and it's helped me get my mind back on track. After all, I know I didn't plagiarize. I'm assuming Amazon knows because they haven't contacted me about it at all and the book is still up for sale despite the reviewer saying that they were reporting me blah blah blah.  And it seems that 99.9% of the people who have read the book know that too. I had to laugh when I checked on the reviews today and saw that 5 people had marked the review as unhelpful. So thank you to you guys too.

In happier news... I was not entirely unmotivated.  I'm super closer to being halfway done with Venus Transcendent. I have no idea if I'm going to be completely done with it by the end of this month but I'm definitely going to give it my best shot. The nice thing about the fact that I haven't had much time to write in the past few months is that it's all really just flowing out of me like mad now that I have more time whenever I do sit down to write.  And things are coming together pretty nicely as well, although of course there's still a lot of work to do on it.

Marriage Training is heating up and I'm rather excited about that, things are definitely starting to move a little faster and I'm having fun playing around with a completely different writing style and with the challenge of writing a story that has so little actual intercourse in it.  Especially since I've never actually trained anyone for anything like this. Oh... btw, should probably mention, this story is very heavily influenced by Alice Liddel's Childebride Island and Vienna Miller's Training His Bride: The Hunt (mostly the former but eventually the latter).  So you know, if you want to get those and compare to make sure I'm not copying other authors' works. *rolls eyes* Yeah. Still a little bitter. But seriously, getting into the psychology of how they're training her is surprising even me sometimes... like Mrs. Banks will do something and then I'll realize why she's doing it and how it effects Vivian's training and I'm like 'woah...'  Seriously, I sometimes wonder about the dark places in my head.

And Dealing With Discipline is moving along nicely. No scenes with similarities to other books so far. Although I did get to write my first even wooden spoon punishment scene! That was a lot of fun =)

So that's what's going on... I'll be trying to get a lot of writing done this weekend because I'm out of town next weekend. Especially on Venus.  At the moment I'm really happy with the way that book is shaping up and I'm getting really excited about transitioning into the Stronghold series even as I'm getting sad about leaving Venus behind. But at least I won't have to say goodbye to Jessica, Justin, Chris, Hilary and Liam permanently since I'll be writing about their friends next and they're going to be around quite a bit. Definitely a major bonus to writing series =) Although for the Stronghold series I'm not doing multiple books about any characters, each Dom gets his own book. Still... there's a lot of Doms to go through so... yay for me! (and hopefully you feel the same way =)

I Didn't Fucking Plagiarize

I'm in a pissy mood.

Someone accused me of plagiarizing part of Birching His Bride in their review.  Which is not at all true. I clicked on the comment's "report abuse" button that Amazon provides and said it was libelous since I definitely didn't do what the reviewer is publically accusing me of but I have no idea whether Amazon does anything about that kind of thing. And of course the reviewer says they've reported ME to amazon. Good luck asshole, since you obviously don't understand what plagiarizing actually is.

Here's the thing...

1. I have too much respect for myself to ever do such a thing

2. I have too much respect for authors period to ever do such a thing

3. IT WASN'T PLAGIARISM and it really pisses me off the people don't understand what plagiarism actually is.

1.
an act or instance of using or closely imitating the language and thoughts of another author without authorization and the representation of that author's work as one's own, as by not crediting the original author: It is said that he plagiarized Thoreau's plagiarism of a line written by Montaigne. appropriation, infringement, piracy, counterfeiting; theft, borrowing, cribbing, passing off.
2.
a piece of writing or other work reflecting such unauthorized use or imitation: “These two manuscripts are clearly plagiarisms,” the editor said, tossing them angrily on the floor.

Are there similarities between the first birching scene in my book and that of Ms. Randolph's? Yes. Absolutely. I was aware of this from the beginning because part of the reason I included a scene like that was because I wanted it to go a different way from hers. I liked the idea but I thought it could serve a different purpose.  So I wrote a similar scene... IN MY OWN WORDS.  With completely different characters, different motivations and yes... similar reactions. Because there are only so many reactions that a person can have to being birched and so many reactions to watching it.

The similarities: young woman is being birched by her father and there are young men watching it.  They each get one blow across their pussy along with the ones across their butt (so sue me, I liked the idea, it's still not plagiarizing because I wrote about it in a different fashion).  Oh, and afterwards the young men are horny (uh... duh). The stance used by the young women is similar because... OH WAIT.... That position for punishment is used in just about every single birching / spanking / caning story I've read on Amazon. All authors having any kind of story with a heroine standing in a stance like that were PLAGIARIZING! Off of... well whoever was the first one to write about that stance I guess. OR... maybe that's just actually the best stance for a person to position themselves in for punishment.

The differences: Well, every single word for one.  Eleanor is defiant from beginning to end, unlike Ms. Randolph's THREE young ladies who are being punished for the viewing pleasure of TWO young men.  Out of the THREE young men that are watching Eleanor being punished only two of them are aroused, one of them is her brother and he doesn't find it the least bit interesting in that way (unlike the brother in Ms. Randolph's book). Throughout the entire thing Edwin is thinking about Eleanor and how's she's changed as well as the birching she's receiving and the descriptions are setting up a pseudo-romance between them... whereas there is no romance in Ms. Randolph's book. The dialogue is completely different, the characters are completely different, the explanations about everything are completely different...

Oh, and may I mention again that it was all with my OWN words and that not a single page, paragraph or phrase were lifted from Ms. Randolph's? I can say that for certain because I just read through hers AND mine again to be sure I hadn't done so by accident... oh hey... I didn't. I've had my own work lifted - literally copied and pasted onto other websites with nothing changed but the character's name and I used to think that nothing could piss me off more. Now I know... being accused of doing the same thing definitely pisses me off more.  I re-imagined a scene that I liked for my own purposes, put it into my own words, and made it my own... being told that it's exactly the same as someone else's????

Grrr. Want to punch things.
